EGX Blog Post 8

16th October (Post EGX) Throughout EGX, we ran giveaways for both games, which included people who followed our Instagram for Wid’s game being randomly selected to win a Limited Edition Book, and a winner was also randomly selected to win Pint Glasses for Nick’s game for joining his discord This led to over 85 people joining Nick’s discord, as well as over 50 people putting Nick’s game on their Steam Wishlist, which was a great success.  The Instagram for Wid’s game has now grown to 115 followers, which is great, as one of Wid’s main objectives was to grow the Instagram to over 100 followers, so I’m glad that my social media contribution has led to this goal being hit!  We have been continuing to post on social media after EGX has wrapped up, asking people through story polls what the best part about our booths were, as well as messaging with people that played the game to get their full feedback!

11th October (Day before EGX) Our business cases and budgets have been fully approved for both games, we have ordered all of the items and thankfully they’ve all arrived in good condition, ready to be displayed at EGX 2023! For both games, myself, Hao, and the devs will be wearing t-shirts for the games the we are representing, with the game logo on the front, in order to show the many thousands of people attending EGX 2023 our game. In terms of how myself and Hao split our time, we will do one day at a time on each game, in total 2 days on each game.  Our social media campaigns for both games have ramped up, with our countdowns to EGX also revealing parts of the game, as well as giveaway prizes that can be won - a limited edition book for Wid’s game, and pint glasses for Nick’s game. Ahead of EGX, we have continued to message people who are coming to EGX 2023, and given them the exact location of our booth now that we have this information, with lots of people confirming that they’re

29th September  I have now submitted the budgets and business cases for both Nick and Wid’s games, detailing the full outline of how much each item will cost, why we are wanting to purchase each item and how it will benefit both of the games that we are marketing at EGX. Nick’s budget and business case has been approved, and just waiting for confirmation on Wid’s game. For Nick’s game, today I am going to start ordering all of the items that we have listed, with the newly topped up equals card. On Instagram and Twitter, we have started to post countdowns to EGX, as well as detailing exactly what will be at our stalls, and putting up polls on instagram to see what percentage of our followers for each game are coming to EGX 2023, with the results for both games being 90+ % saying yes. I sent sent messages to the people who voted yes, saying that we will be at EGX all days, and it would be great to have them play our game- with a lot of people responding, which is fantastic, as we know w

8th September  We have organised all of the merchandise that we want to order for EGX, and I have now set up my equals cards. My next step is to get the budget approved for both games, which I will be doing through the next week by presenting my business cases for each item we buy. In order to do this, I will create a spreadsheet with the exact costs after VAT for each purchase, and justify why exactly we want to purchase these items.  We have also been on top of our socials, posting about the characters and gameplay for both games, in turn giving our audience an insight to what our game is going to look like at EGX. Both of our social media pages now have over 40 followers, which I’m happy with, as the pages are growing at a steady rate with our consistent posting.

24th August We have finalised our ideas for merchandise for both games, and now we’re looking at which websites we want to use, comparing prices and finding the cheapest Website for each option. We also have continued to update our social media pages for both games, posting snippets of gameplay and using polls for both games to decide which gameplay features people want to see most!  On top of this we have also began to follow people who will be attending EGX 2023, as well as the NFTS marketing team, as we want our followers to be people who are actively looking to participate in playing games, and who will give us productive feedback! We have also put discord links frequently in story posts for Nick’s game, which has grown out the discord to over 30 users now!

11th August  For both games, we have continued posting on Instagram and Twitter, starting to put more emphasis on when we will be at EGX, and getting people to join our discord through posting stories of what we will be putting on the discord (merch giveaways, gameplay footage, behind the scenes) and putting links for people to join. We also have started to discuss with our devs what exactly they want to have as their merchandise, with our initial ideas being business cards, postcards, stickers and t-shirts for Wid’s game. For Nick’s game we’re looking at pint glasses, business cards and t-shirts. We are also posting our ideas for merchandise on story posts for both games, running polls so that people can choose which kind of merchandise they’d like to see us bring to EGX.

27th July I have continued to grow out the Instagram and Twitter pages for both of the games that I am marketing, as well as boosting the engagement rate of our posts by messaging people who are following us, as well as utilising polls and and “ask me anything” stories to allow people to get a greater insight into what our games are about. I have also expanded the list of influencers, both on YouTube and Twitch, that have played and streamed similar games, compiling a full list of their details and how best to reach them.  Alongside this, I have asked for the developers to provide me with more photos & gifs, so that I can post them on the social media platforms for both games.
